For the opening scene of The Rover I was asked to rerecord an obscure Cambodian song, which you can hear the track playing in the roadhouse. Originally recorded onto cassette and found by the film's music supervisor Jemma Burns on YouTube, my brief was to recreate exactly the lo-fi character of the original cassette. Thai-Australian singer Savy Heng's voice features.
